EFFECT OF DIETARY SUPPLEMENT GINGER AND TURMERIC POWDER ON JAPANESE QUAIL (COTURNIX JAPONICA) PERFORMANCE, CARCASS TRAITS AND BLOOD PARAMETERS

Completely randomized design were used as the quails distributed to four feed treatments randomly (45 birds/ treatment) with three replications (15 replicate). Treatments were: basal diet without additives (control), 5g/kg of ginger powder, turmeric powder and equal mixture 10g/kg powder. Results showed all treatment significantly increased (p≤0.05) in live body weight gain. Feed intake until 21 days age decreased but a whole study 42 age, there no considerable variations between treatments. Significant decrease conversion ratio was occurred treatment. Addition male female eviscerated dressing percentage, breast percentage back percentage. Inclusions blood cholesterol, triglycerides LDL both males females HDL did not changed while reduced (p≤0.05). In conclusion, dietary supplementation either alone or an effective supplement could be enhance growth performance, carcass characteristics lipids.
